You want to join a Yoga group class at the beach in El Médano? But you’re not sure which one of the Yoga Tenerife classes fits your vibe? Then this post is for you!
It’s me, Melli, the current intern at Yoga Tenerife, and I’m going to explain to you what I love about each of the Yoga Tenerife classes.
Eva offers morning and evening yoga classes in El Medano and I’ve been to both of them plenty! In general the setting is a huge bonus for both of the classes! Located right at the beach of El Médano, with a wonderful view and soundscape.
The morning yoga classes in El Médano

Every yoga class with Eva is different and special. None of them have really been the same for me. That’s because Eva is so good at matching the group vibe and bringing in modifications for each level. Sometimes I wake up really tired, not fully ready to give it my all. No matter how I feel, there is always a modification that fits my vibe: Childs pose or downward dog, high lunge with an upper body twist or rather a twist sitting down? It’s on you to decide!
Doing Yoga with Eva in the morning is the best start to the day and makes those days my favourite during my internship here. I can watch the sun rise on the horizon: depending on the time of the year either while leaving the house already or in winter time during the class, which is really magical! All body parts are woken up, stretched and activated. The mind is calm and relaxed.

It is so easy to get up and immediately rush into the day, even if you’re on vacation. We leave the bedroom and are instantly busy with the plans of the day, where we want to go, what to do and what to see. If you’re not mindful, you get so busy and the next second you’re already sitting on the plane back home. Time goes by faster when the mind is constantly busy with mundane tasks and activities.
Morning Yoga with Eva gives that time back to you. Not only during the class but for the entire day that lies ahead of you after leaving the mat. In the end, that is what Yoga is all about: Carrying that spirit with you into everything that lies beyond the mat.
If you want to experience a mindful start into your day: the morning classes with Eva are definitely a match!
The evening classes

The evening classes, on the other hand, carry a gentle spirit to wind down after a long and busy day.
If you’ve had an active day on the island, top it off with this. I myself really cherish the difference it makes to move the body with Yoga after an outdoorsy day. When I’m a bit sore from hiking or climbing, this class makes all the difference. Also: the sun sets right during the evening class during the darker times of the year. If you’re lucky, you even see the moon rising above you during the yoga practice. I’m always surprised that not more people choose to relax and wind down in the evening with Yoga at the beach. The morning class generally has more participants, while the evening classes stay small and more personal. For me that’s a big benefit because Eva has the time and space to meet your needs, go around and correct your postures or enjoy a conversation with us before/after class. Sometimes a sunset walk along the coast right after Shavasana lets you see the day passed with new, grounded eyes.
And then: El Médano offers plenty of good restaurant options for every taste! What a wonderful end to your day!
What to bring
For both classes I would recommend you to wear layered clothing or bring something to warm you during the end relaxation (just because you never know). Also, water is essential. Eva provides you with beach towels and mats if you can’t bring your own. Eva also makes sure to meet your needs. So just message her or tell her before class if you have any special needs!
I hope to see you on the mat!
