Who I am
Hi, I’m Nicky,
I’m 22 years old, Italian-German, a design graduate, and usually somewhere between Italy, Germany, and Spain, always in search of new places, inspiring people, and experiences that help me grow. Ever since childhood, I have had the desire to explore the world. I have always been a very curious person, open to new cultures, perspectives, and experiences. That is exactly why travel, meaningful encounters, and discovering new places continue to mean so much to me.
Why Tenerife?
After my first Erasmus experience in northern Spain, I knew that one day I would want to return for a longer period. This time, however, I was looking for a place that feels quieter, more natural, and more mindful, far away from the constant pace of big cities. That is exactly what led me to Tenerife, where I am now working as a new Erasmus+ intern alongside Eva at Yoga Tenerife.
Arriving on the island

I have been living here for a month now, and I feel that time passes differently on the island. The sound of the ocean shapes my everyday life, the sun draws me outside each day, and nature constantly reminds me to slow down and be more present in the moment.
What impresses me most is the openness of the people here. Every encounter so far has been warm and effortless. As a result, Tenerife gives me not only peace and lightness, but also a kind of balance I have been missing for a long time. Maybe I feel so at home here because the sea has always been an important part of my life. After all, I grew up near the Cinque Terre and have always felt a strong connection to nature and the ocean.
My daily life between sea, creativity, and yoga
My daily routine here is simple, but that is exactly what makes it so special. In the mornings, I usually start with a short meditation, have a relaxed breakfast, and then work from my favorite café, Manfreds, accompanied by jazz music and a view of the waves. In the afternoons, I spend a lot of time outside: walking along the beach, journaling, taking photos, or simply enjoying the sun. I also meet Eva twice a week for yoga sessions by the sea, social media projects, and creative ideas for Yoga Tenerife.
What yoga on Tenerife gives me

What I especially love about the yoga classes is that each session is different. Every class offers new impulses, not only for the body, but also for the mind. Because of this, I am learning more and more to be more mindful with my body, to listen better to its needs, and to allow myself more calm. Yoga helps me regulate my nervous system, release stress, and bring more balance into my daily life. Especially here in Tenerife, I realize how valuable simple things can be: movement, breath, nature, and being present in the moment.
Discovering other passions
In addition to yoga, pole dance is one of my greatest passions, which I have been practicing for four years. That is why I am especially happy that I can continue taking classes here on the island. I also recently tried my first surfing lesson, definitely not the last. Tenerife in particular seems to offer endless opportunities to try new things and grow beyond yourself.
Exploring the island

On weekends, I explore new places on the island as often as I can. There is always something new to discover: hidden beaches, breathtaking landscapes, and small places with a very special charm. It is exactly this mix of nature, creativity, and movement that makes life here so special for me.
A new Erasmus chapter begins
This experience shows me every day how important it is to slow down, stay present, and truly appreciate the small moments. And this is only the beginning.
I am excited to meet all the wonderful people who find their way to Yoga Tenerife and to spend the next months full of new experiences, encounters, and personal growth.
